John Sculley, Venture Partner
John Sculley is a venture partner of Rho Ventures. John’s investment thesis is to mentor serial entrepreneurs with domain expertise, focus on vertical markets ripe for transformation via platform-as-a-service solutions and acquire small companies to accelerate the expansion of his companies.
He formally joined Rho 2004 and focuses on investments in healthcare, Internet marketing and wireless services. He began working with Rho in the late-1990s, co-investing in companies alongside Rho. Prior to Rho, he worked at Sculley Brothers LLC, a family office investment firm that was actively involved in co-founding then future Rho portfolio company Intralinks.
Previously, John was the CEO of Apple Computer from 1983 to 1993 and was president and CEO of Pepsi Cola Company for five years.
A graduate of Brown University, he received an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and an honorary doctorate degree from Johns Hopkins University.
